It\u2019s been 8 days now since my mom and I made it home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I knew it was going to be hard leaving the nurses, doctors, housekeepers, food services, and janitorial staff that had become more like family but I was eager to get home to Rico and the kids. To be honest I missed everyone, but the way I missed Rico and my kids was OUT OF THIS WORLD! I had never been away from the kids more than a few days and the anticipation, excitement, and thoughts were racing through my mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The morning we left the hospital, the ENT doctors came in around 615 am like normal. I was excited to see them as always but this was a new type of excitement because I knew we were soon to be homebound. One of the Doctors that had been reassigned the previous week came in and gave us my moms \u201cgoals for the day.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He started off by saying, \u201c today we want you to get up and walk as much as you can getting those legs moving and sitting up as well and we will see about getting you out the BEGINNING OF NEXT WEEK!\u201d I interjected and said \u201cnext week I thought home was today,\u201d I didn\u2019t realize how rude I was by blurting this out but excitement got the best of me. Another doctor quickly jumped in and said the plan is to have you home today. I felt like I could breathe again! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So many folks had begun saying their goodbyes the Thursday prior to us leaving and I quickly told them it\u2019s not \u201cgoodbye\u201d but \u201csee you later.\u201d My mom had already come up with a plan on how we could provide a home cooked meal for everyone on the 7th floor. Their care, concern, compassion, love, and belief in mom where long lasting memories that have been created and blossomed over 32 days. The prayers, the talks, the laughs, the cries, the fist and arm bumps, even the hugs we shared will remain in my heart forever!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All in all I will remember the joys from being beside my mom in the hospital through the entirety of her stay. I will remember the strength and bravery of my kids and husband. I will remember my moms faith. I will remember the outpouring of help, love, support, calls, talks, texts, daily check ins, etc. I\u2019ve talked to aunts and cousins daily when sometimes it would be months in between each other that I heard their voice! It brought us all closer together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Psalm 13:5-6 (God\u2019s word translation) says, But I trust your mercy. My heart finds joy in Your salvation. I will sing praises to the Lord because He has been good to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don\u2019t know about you but the Lord has been good to me! He IS good to me! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I originally was going to write about the trip home on the 29th of June but God changed my views and my focus. Being back home I didn\u2019t know what to expect. I thought I was going to mess up and a lot weighed on my shoulders. BUT GOD!!!! I knew that this new responsibility would be managed because of God\u2019s grace and mercy so it removed any fear that tried to creep up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this Psalm, David wrote that his heart found joy in the Lord\u2019s salvation. God placed it on my heart to tell you this morning that when you feel like you are getting overwhelmed or depressed, remember your joy! The Bible says we must sing praises to our Lord because He is good! He saved us! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He didn\u2019t bring my mom this far to leave her and she won\u2019t leave me. So because of that I entered home health with joy and a great privilege. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In conclusion, God is watching us and He wants us to remember Him in all our ways. No matter what we go through or what we face, we don\u2019t have to go at it alone. God is good and worthy of our praise. He is worthy of ALL MY PRAISE! <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
