 \u00a0<\/sup>Don\u2019t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ.

I read an article that said the following: ” In the south, eating black eyed peas or Hoppin’ John is thought to bring prosperity to the new year-the peas stand for coins, cabbage or greens are for paper money and cornbread is gold.” This article stated many people gathered at the dinner table to eat the country meal for New Years which consists of pork chop, collards, and black eyed peas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I have been in the South all of my life and I have not one time fixed the “traditional Southern New Years meal, but I am glad this morning that God has granted me health, wealth, and happiness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
