Greetings family!

Let me start by saying I am so excited for what the Lord is doing in my life! He has given me the opportunity that is presented to all who know Him; to share my story in hopes of providing encouragement, hope, and cheer to those all around.

It all started back in April 2015. It was not the typical day in the house! On this particular day, tension was high and my patience was low. I had been dealing with a family matter and I was ready to throw in the towel. A part of me wanted to blast my feelings on Facebook but then I thought, what good would it do?!! So as I pondered. I then began walking back and forth in the house and thought, “Well maybe I should write in my journal” but that did not satisfy the anger that was building up inside of me. I decided to try something new! So I sent a couple of “motivational texts” to a few of my close friends.

At that time, a lot of them knew what I was dealing with and so I wanted to create something positive and not live up to the norm and be a “Negative Nancy”. I started off with one paragraph and over the last 4 years it has grown to me texting lengthy texts with meaning sharing my heart with others. It is so easy to rant and rave on social media and I admit, it was super hard turning my aggravation into something positive while I was in the heat of the moment. I never knew the very feelings that grinded my gears so many years ago would be the platform for me today. I built the foundation on Christ’s truth, God’s love for me, my real life story, and the good, bad, and ugly of having a blended family. I tell my husband I love him to death, but sometimes I could do without the “extra drama.”

Trust me, in a few days we will celebrate 12 years of marriage, and it is well worth the previous heartaches, headaches, and disappointments. You know that saying “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger”, well folks it not only made us stronger as a family, as husband and wife, but it made me a stronger Believer in the Lord, it made me a stronger woman, wife, mother, daughter, friend, coworker, you name it! So although some of you may just be tuning in it won’t take long to catch up.

If you read my “All about Me” page you see that I am a mother of 6 (5 handsome young men and 1 beautiful daughter). If you are wondering, No I DID NOT BIRTH 6 CHILDREN LOL!!! 3 from my marriage and my husband had 3 before we started dating. Do you want to know something weird? My dad actually had 6 children as well, 3 from my mother and 3 from previous relationships. And no I did not plan that, it is just the way God worked it out. Gotta love big families’ right! More gifts to give out during Christmas time and definitely more memories and laughs to share.

So with this blog I plan to continue doing what I first accomplished with my motivational texts. I will be sharing my day to day thoughts as I interact with people. For the sake of privacy I will not reveal names unless I receive prior authorization but I promise to always keep it real, original, truthful, and straight to the point. No sugarcoating on this website. Although you will not see or hear any profane language from me, depending on the subject I may reference domestic violence, bullying, prostitution, drug usage, etc.

By providing encouragement, I purpose to do so by again KEEPING IT REAL and providing Scriptures. We live in a world where YouTube, Google, and Alexa will tell you everything to know about certain topics so why not get it from a personal perspective with a positive spin on it.

It is my prayer that a song, a picture, a post, a blog, a testimonial, or a simple kind word will help brighten your day as we journey together in Christ. I share the good, the bad, and the ugly of life while thanking God for each day He blesses me with breath. There is so much darkness in the world, I hope by sharing my story with, your life will be changed and your future brightened!

  1. I love the part about turning anger into something positive. I am working on ways to do the same. Thank you for all your inspirational text I we the years

    1. Thank you so much! What man wishes for our downfall, God uses it to build us up. You are doing it right now. You encouraged me by posting your video on YouTube and you encourage me daily by turning regular scrapes of material and turning it into beautiful pieces of art for women to embrace their roots. You have always been such a positive REALIST and I just love and thank God for you every day. Continue to shine your light before men. Also thank you for your support and your PUSH…you are the sole person behind me actually going through with it and with your permission when I write my book, your name will be in there to show how much those words of encouragement mean to me.

  2. Well this has truly motivated me to moving on to another step in my life. I look forward to your motivational texts my pig nose.

    1. Oh Faith you are a STRONG woman who has faced odds and like Kelly said, “took the bull by the horns.” As you move forward to the next step in life remember God has always been there to be the mother, the sister, the brother, the father, the whomever you need Him to be. In life sometimes we feel like we are all alone but His word says He will never leave us nor forsake us.

I thank God that He spared your life when we were coming home from the bus stop in elementary school and those men opened the door to snatch you. Til this day I ask God to forgive me for being a horrible friend back then. I took off running for dear life and only looked back to see if you were behind me. I wonder would I have turned around to come to your rescue. Thank God we will never have to worrry or find out right? Thank you for reading my motivational text and sharing this journey with me.

I love you forever and a day horse nose.

    1. Aww thank you sis! I log onto the website at times and I am just shocked! Simply shocked! I cannot believe sending out lengthy motivational texts turned into an online “blog”. Thank you for encouraging me on this journey called life and I thank you for our sisterhood and friendship. Knowing that we can worship God and spread His word is worth all the shock in the world. Again thank you for helping me realize what my purpose was and being such an influential person in my life.

      I love you!
