When I was a little girl Grandma, Tal, and Bess would take us to church every Sunday. Going to Liberty Hill Baptist Church in the great Vance, SC I remembered the choir singing this song (link above). The version they sung was a little slower but I chose this faster one because I have on my dancing shoes this morning.
You see this morning I’m hurting a little bit but that ole devil can’t stop the praise I have on the inside. My praise is so big I just can’t keep it to myself. On yesterday God answered the prayer of His people. We had been praying for a sweet friend to return home to his loving wife after being in the hospital for a few weeks and yesterday Pastor Steven made the announcement on Facebook Live- Mr Richard is coming home!
So this morning I just want to talk to you for a second about praying for one another and praying without ceasing. Back in the day, the older folks would tell you to lay down your burdens, down by the riverside. We might not go to the riverside to lay our burdens down, but we continue to pray for one another until the particular burden has been lifted. Join me here to see what the Bible tells us about the power of prayer.
Oh Yes Whitnee!!! I grew up in a Holiness Church and they wouldn’t stop shouting and praying until the spirit “stops” now that could be 2 to 3 hours and as a child that is a long time. But so glad Richard is home with Carolyn. I know she is relived. Matthew 18:20, Jesus says, “For where two or three gather in my name, there am i with them.” I think about the Mother Support Group and my Soul just cries with love, and gratitude, and warmth, when we pray because I know that God is there with us every-time we pray. Oh Hallelujah God. I am grateful for being apart of such a loving group.
Praise God! Yes I thank everyday for you beautiful ladies and the love that we share in Christ together. So happy you are apart of this group!
