Her hope speaks loud and clear! 6.29.2020

I’ve heard others talk about how pleasant your mom is so I just wanted to stop by and speak. So this is where everyone hides out at. You can feel the positivity when you walk through the door. It’s so refreshing!

Says one of the 7th floor Patient Care Technicians

So while I was talking with Julianne and Tamara, a new young lady I had never met by the name of Kameryn came in and said she had heard about us. It’s funny because at the current time I had just let out a loud laugh and I thought she was coming in to ask us to quiet it down a little but instead she was coming in to join the fun.

They labeled my mom “the Star” of the 7th floor. They admired her thumbs up, the rolling of her eyes, her long winded notes on the dry erase board, her gentle hand shakes, comforting squeezes, and the smiles through her swollen cheeks. All she did was give the glory to God. At first they didn’t understand what she meant when she pointed above, but after 32 days of being here they most definitely know where her help comes from!

It’s been such a joyous ride and although I am so excited to get home to my husband and kids; I’m truly going to miss these folks. We fed off of each other’s positive vibes and when things didn’t look so promising at times, they comforted me. When they had a hard day or dealt with difficult patients, I was able to help them get back to that inner peace. I’ve never met such a great group of folks all in one place. A place where people come to get healed- God healed us all.

You see the healing just didn’t take place in my mom but every soul that walked in rooms 412, 502, 791, 408, 792, or last but but not least 781. Last night we had the biggest celebration! What turned into a lot of goodbyes and see you soon maybe turned into a time to fellowship and praise God together.

Nothing my mom has gone through was by chance. It not only opened my eyes but it touched the hearts and lives of each doctor, each nurse, each housekeeper, each phlebotomist, each respiratory therapist, each patient care Technician, each charge nurse, and each person here at MUSC.

We can all honestly say we are so much more stronger than we first started this journey on May 29th.

If someone asked my mom today how did you get through, her response would be and is God.

This message was not about how fond they grew of us but how God shined through my mom. How His strength graced my mom so beautifully and so boldly. It’s about living out God’s plan for our lives.

I thought it good to declare the signs and wonders that the Most High God has worked for me.

Daniel 4:2

It’s time for us to unite my sisters and brothers! It is time for us to stand up and stand tall and tell our fellow sisters and brothers about the grace and mercy of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We pray and we will continue to pray but it’s time to spring into action.

If a woman who hasn’t spoken in 33 days can live to speak and tell the story of the love of God why can’t you and I? We have to make a commitment to allow Christ to live and shine through us. Many of us do but some of us have allowed this pandemic and everything going on to dim our light.

Today I want to challenge each person reading this to stand up and put in your armor of God and stand firm in your faith. Dear God, we your beloved children come to you today standing in the need of Your help. Help us to bring our fears and our burdens to You in prayer and depend solely on You and Your son Jesus Christ.

Let us be like the strong mother God blessed me with and trust God in and through every thing we face. I’m not putting my mom up on a pedestal by writing these last few weeks about her. No, I celebrate the God in her that shines bright like a diamond.

Let your light so shine Before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:16

As I prepare to close today’s text, I want you to remember that you are the salt of this Earth. We must distinctly reflect God’s light to folks who have not grown to know His love. We must love as He loves us so they too may see His grace. Let our faith allow us to be different than we once were!

Thank you Lord for allowing me to experience this unveiling testimony and be right beside my mom on this 32 day journey. Just as Jesus came to do the Will of His Father, it is my prayer we too do the Will of the Lord with great joy and satisfaction.

Tell Mrs. Davis like My Brother Marc would say, ” The best is YET to come!

    1. Faith you need to open your own blog or prayer line. People need your testimony and to hear your story.

I’m so happy God made you apart of our family and allowed me to be welcomed into yours. Crying tears of joy right along with you.
