Mom and dad told me at a young age that I should never forget where I come from. Did your parents ever tell you that? As a child did you know what they meant? Did you really grasp the concept of what they were saying?
This statement really humbled me and no matter how much or how little I had; I was always thankful! I wasn’t thankful because of the materialistic things but because of who God was and is in my life. The relationship with Him supersedes any money I had or will have. The intimate relationship with Him is priceless so matter what my bank account said or will say- it just can’t compare to what I have in Christ.
This picture is one of my favorite pictures. It tells a story. Can you tell what the story is? I would love to read your thoughts so I invite you to comment below in the comments section. Don’t be shy speak your peace Chile!
This man and woman sit at the table counting possibly all the money they had at the time. They didn’t have on Prada, Gucci, or other designer clothes yet they had such a grace about themselves. They didn’t look sad or down; they looked content and thankful.
They counted their pennies, their nickels and dimes, quarters and dollars and the husband did with such grace.
While some count their hundreds, thousands, or millions they still seem disconnected or out of touch with themselves. No matter how much some have they still don’t have it all- especially if they lack the relationship with Christ.
I’m proud to say the “apple didn’t fall too far from the tree.” I’m teaching my boys about the one relationship that will bring more joy and happiness than any amount of money in the world. Rico and I are raising them to choose Christ verses the vices of this world.
That relationship will take my boys farther in life than the richest mans money. This morning I’m so thankful that I am content in Christ. No matter what we go through in this life God is there with us and He will not leave us nor forsake us. Thank you Lord for allowing me to see Your grace IN ALL SITUATIONS and for allowing me to pass it on to the next generation.
LOVE THIS!!!!

I agree 100%. I also teach My kids, not that they are really listening to me right now except for EJ about this. He encounters kids at Grace Academy with their Jordon’s, or latest game system. I thank God that EJ has the mind frame of I am no better than you and you are no better than me regardless of what materialist item that you may have. I teach EJ about working hard for what you want and need and let God lead the way. I try to instill Proverbs : 5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Eventually they will understand. This even goes for here at the job….Before you can be Nurse, You must first be a CNA or take the certification and be certified., When obtaining my certification as a CNA, another student who was pursuing med school, had to take a CNA course. So Even from the Higher ups must start somewhere. We have some Nurses that will wait on a CNA to change a resident or the Nurse will think oh that is beneath me and sadly some Nurses think that way. It would be a much better world if we would just help one another and not think no one is better than the other. This leads me to Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.” Meaning we are to see ourselves the way God sees us. No who we think we are because we have all this materialistic items or are just arrogant, but our plain selves. God has a plan for each and everyone of us because we are part of his master plan. We not only need to let God in and use us like he intended instead of trying to make ourselves more than what we are and get in the way of God’s plan.
Amen amen and amen
