Whitnee's journey with Christ

Do you remember the movie Mission Impossible? If you have heard of it or seen it, what was the main theme of the movie? Do you think Dan Briggs, Luther Stickell, and the other cast members were able to complete the mission? It’s a great movie, if you haven’t seen it, check it out this weekend with some popcorn!

Well sorry to be a spoiler kit but todays message isn’t about the movie Mission Impossible NO sorry…todays message is about our individual missions in Christ. With God’s purpose my hope is to give you a few words of encouragement that will help YOU on your journey in Christ so that we better achieve our mission or purpose that God created us for.

Look at the Book of Ephesians 6: 10-24. Verses 10-20 talks about the whole armor of God. We have to equip ourselves with the body armor of God so we can be successful on our individual missions. You see in life you might step on some emotional grenades, you might accidentally launch a psychological missile, or even have some spiritual flares. Whatever it is, please rest assured God’s got it and He has you.

Like my sweet friend Faith said on yesterday in her reply to a post I previously written, she said we are not perfect, we will all make mistakes, (asking in we will all fort short) but it is how we get back up and finish the race is what matters.

Yes in life we are going to have pain, we are going to experience trials, things may get so bad we might think we loosing our dang blasted mind BUT we should never loose heart or grow faint because God is with us every step of the way.

And then there may some folks who are not comfortable with the task given to them. They may compare themselves to Batman when God only equipped them to be Robin. Or they might think that because they are Robin and don’t have the leading role there is no purpose for their particular role. If that is you and your mindset, it is time to pump the brakes and reset.

Think about Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, that is mentioned in Ephesians 6:21-24. Tychicus used to run errands for the Apostle Paul. Scripture tells us in Colossians 4:7-8 that Tychicus was sent out so that we could know and better understand our circumstances and our hearts be comforted.

He might not have been as big as Paul, but he had his own task given to him by God, that would help build the kingdom of God. If you think about it, as a minister, he delivered the Word of God as well, he also delivered Paul’s messages to churches as well.

My sisters and brothers do you know what your mission is today? Do you know that you’ve got the tools inside of you to accomplish the mission? Do you feel you aren’t cut out for the job- if so never fear or doubt that God will not bring into fruition what it is He has you set out to do.

You may not be a writer like me, you might be a singer like J. Moss, you might not be a superstar like Beyoncé BUT whatever it is that God has created you to do, keep the course, and finish the race in faith.

Colossians 4:17 says take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you may fulfill it.

It’s time for us to really hone in on our mission, our task at hand. Are working with or against God to fulfill His purpose in your life? Are you studying His word, meditating, fasting, praying, and seeking a closer relationship with Him? Hopefully you’ve had the chance to look at yesterdays post where we each complete a self inventory.

Maybe you aren’t where you want to be or where you need to be. CALM DOWN, ITS OKAY! Maybe you think you aren’t good enough, smart enough, talented enough, or bold enough. CALM DOWN, THOSE ARE ALL LIES! The devil has been gaslighting for years trying to make us think we are less than, we aren’t worthy, or capable of doing God’s work…ITS A SCHEME TO HOLD YOU BACK!!!

Friends let’s humble ourselves, buckle our set belts, and prepare for take off! It’s time to start, endure, and finish this mission. Whatever it is you have been created to do, let’s start speaking it into existence, living in His word, believing in God to accomplish it, praise Him through the good or bad times, endure trials that may come, anticipate storms that will try to knock us down, and people that will try to kick us out of our race. All things are possible in Christ who gives us strength.

Maybe like me you’ve been knocked down. Maybe you’ve been faced with loss after loss after loss. You’ve lost so much you’ve began to think it’s because you are a looser. My friends, you aren’t a looser YOU ARE HUMAN. You are STRONG, you are COURAGEOUS, you are GIFTED, you are BLESSED, you are ENOUGH!!!! So speak life over yourself and bind up the negative attitudes, fear and doubt, shame and hurt, or whatever is not like God that is holding you back. Let’s start afresh with this brand new day God has given us.

So in conclusion, like Tychicus, we too are messengers for Christ. It may not be that we all are created to be pastors, musicians, counselors, doctors, or lawyers BUT whatever it is….YOU GOT THIS…let’s get to it and do it to bring victory to the Lord….you ready? Let’s gooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!
