Prisoner in my own mind.

There was a time where I could easily fight off negative thoughts with an ease. I would recite scripture and pray the enemy away. And then a time came when the negative thoughts impacted my mind so bad I couldn’t think straight or discern the enemies attack from God’s plan. The thoughts had started to cripple me and I was so afraid to reach out to folks to tell them what was going on; though I did solicit prayer from friends and family. Have you ever experienced a time in your life when negative thoughts filled your head? What did you do to protect yourself from these thoughts and how did you overcome it? (Comment below in the comment section)

Many of us may have experienced the enemies attack and we all know this is called spiritual warfare. In order for us to defeat the enemy we have to stay equipped with the body of armor. In yesterdays post I mentioned the body of armor. We can fight the enemy with God’s word. As we recite scripture, the enemy gets weaker. When we speak God’s truth, we take away Satan’s power.

Friends we have folks in our community who are experiencing attacks left and right. They are being bomb-shelled, ram-shacked, double teamed, and their minds are filled with lies, deception, and false thoughts.

The different things we face in life sometimes add more on us than we can bear. Imagine loosing multiple loved ones at a time, loosing your job, your transportation, and your home all at one time. The average person would want to give up and that’s exactly what the enemy wants us to do. He wants us to have feelings of inadequacy, hopelessness, doubt, fear, frustration, and confusion.

It’s time to change our way of thinking and send the devil packing. He has got into our heads and into our homes. Let’s remember God still reigns. He is victorious! He is Lord of Lords and the King of Kings!

There are two passages of scripture that I would like to share with you that have provided encouragement and strength when I have been in some of my darkest moments.

The Lord is my strength and song,

And He has become my salvation.

The voice of rejoicing and salvation Is in the tents of the righteous; The right hand of the Lord does valiantly.

I shall not die but live; and declare the works of the Lord. The Lord has chastened me severely, But He has not given me over to death.

Psalm 118:14-18

How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!

Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.

Psalm 119:9-11

God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God shall help her, just at the break of dawn.

Psalm 46:5

What scriptures do you recall by memory or search in times of distress or when your mind wonders to a dark place? Please share with other saints so we too can add them to our list of scriptures.

This week I’ve written about our mission for Christ, the armor of God, completing a self examination, growing while being uncomfortable, and making ourselves available to God. Todays message we are rapping it up with positive thinking. We have to speak life and restore our hope.

One thing about storms, they don’t last always. The sun will come out. Are y’all looking outside right now? The sun will be out soon. Allow God’s word to guard your mind from the enemies attempt to discredit you so you will no longer be a prisoner of your own mind. To help me, here is Annie with a little sunshine!

  1. I always revert to James 1:2…and just start singing & listening to worship songs.

  2. Oh have I dealt with negative thoughts all my life. A lot of compound grief as my good friend Tatayana has explained it. Negative thoughts here and negative thoughts there. Usually when I am in a funk, I listen to my good old gospel music and I pray or I just cry. I know that God hears our cries as well. Fred Hammond Hear my cry Oh Lord Helps me get through. Also They That Wait on The Lord Shall Renew Their Strength. God of Possible By Katy Nichole. This song has become my favorite lately as Joshua and Madison have been singing it daily as one day I pray we sing it on the praise team with my Maddie and Joshua leading the song. This song to me is powerful! They sang it Deanna and I am going to record them singing it to Deanna again when I go see her. God of Possible! Oh this song is for all who are dealing with sickness, illness, anything that is not of Christ.

I speak the name of Jesus over you
In your hurting, in your sorrow
I will ask my God to move
I speak the name ’cause it’s all that I can do
    In desperation, I’ll seek Heaven
    And pray this for you
    I pray for your healing
    That circumstances would change
I pray that the fear inside would flee in Jesus name
I pray that a breakthrough would happen today
I pray miracles over your life in Jesus name, in Jesus name

    Declaring blessings, every promise

Here are some scriptures that help me get through. These are just a few but I got a whole lot more. From Birth to until about age 12, I stayed with my Praying Spiritual Grandmother “Hun”. She would always tell me to read my Bible and learn My Word!

    Isaiah 41:10
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

    Matthew 6:31–34
“So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or “What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

    Proverbs 3:5–6
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.

    Revelation 21:4
“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” And He who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.”

    John 16:33
“In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

    1 John 4:15
If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God.

When I am really in a funk and a mood, Call me crazy, but I will talk to myself and quote 1 John 4:15, If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God.” That right they get me to shouting and dancing because I have accepted Jesus as my Lord and Personal Savior. And I know His Word is TRUE! So why am I in a funk???The Lord God Almighty lives in me. Then I talk to myself some more, Faith, did you not just hear what you just said. You just said the Lord God Almighty Lives in you and You in Him. All of a sudden what ever I was upset about goes out the window, yes the issue at hand may still be there but, GOD. I get a warm powerful feeling deep on the inside of me and my soul cries YES!!! YES! Everything will be alright. YES! God has mad me some promises that I KNOW THAT HE WILL KEEP! OUR FATHER HAS NEVER FAILED AND WILL NOT FAIL. OUR PROMISES: Joshua 21:45 “Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled.” God is always good. — Psalm 119:68 “You are good and do good. Teach me your statues.”
God is always with me — Joshua 1:9 “This is my command-be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

God loves me deeply, no matter what. — Romans 8:38-39 “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
God gives me power for my life — 2 Timothy 1:7 “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” God’s presence brings joy — Psalm 16:11 “You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”
God will fill me to overflowing with hope — Romans 15:13 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
God will strengthen and help me — Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
God will give you wisdom –James 1:5 “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”
God promises you an abundant life — “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” God has a plan for my life — Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
God can be trusted — Hebrews 10:23 “Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.”
Now that I have a reality check of what God has planned for me……My Soul is crying Yes to your Will and Yes to your Way. There is no mood that is not of God that I can stay in for very long or if long. Yes we are Human. Yes We are not perfect…but let me tell you, if you are rooted in the Jesus and the Bible like a big strong Fir Tree and Roots reaching deep into the Earth. Nothing Can Stop you from doing the Will of God and Fulfilling your purpose in life to Glorify God because we have the GOD OF POSSIBLE ROOTED IN US. AMEN!!!!!!! Hallelujah!

    17. High Priest
Such a high priest truly meets our need-one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens. Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself (Hebrews 7:26-27).

So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual. 37. Pioneer and Perfecter of Our Faith
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews 12:1, 2).
    38. Prince of Peace
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6).

I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!! I always listed to The Canton Spirituals, Lee Williams and the Spiritual QC’s and so many other quartets.

  9. When I was a little girl and my grandmother had one of those radios that was shaped like an old church and it was brown…I would here this song all the time. I remember my cousin Chris saying that song is so wrong saying God is just using you…You see he didn’t understand what God was using you for….Now I see God is using our bad for our good. Now as I got older, I understood the meaning and this song would help me when I was down I would just look for…not EXPECT the good to come and it did on God’s timing. AMEN .

There is no pain, Jesus can’t feel
There is no hurt, that He can’t heal
For all things work [yes they do]
    According to the masters purpose
    and his holy will
no matter what [you in the balcony]
are going thru, remember that God only wants a chance to use you
for the battle is not yours its the Lord’s
[we gonna tell the devil that all right?]
There’s no sadness, Jesus can’t feel
    and there is no sorrow,
that the master is not able and willing to heal
    remember that all things work
they’re not gonna be all good
but they’re gonna work according to God’s purpose and his holy will
no matter what, no matter what you’re going thru
remember God sees all and he knows all
and all he wants to do is use you
for this Battle is not yours its, its its its its the lord
This battle is the Lord’s. its the Lord’s
[yes its the Lord’s] it is the Lord’s
[but in faith you’ve got to hold your head up high] hold your head up high
[you belong to the most high God you don’t need to cry]
don’t you cry its the Lord’s
[its the Lord’s] its the Lord’s
[yeah yeah yes its the Lord’s] it is the Lord’s
[No matter what] No matter what
    [You’re going thru] Thru
[Remember its gonna be alright He’s just using you]
God us only, using you for he’s worthy
[No matter what] no matter what
[you hapen to go thru right now] Thru
[Remember this will be a memory God is only using you]
God is only using you, for he’s worthy
[You’ve got to have faith] No matter what
[You’ve got to know in your heart] thru
[That no matter what comes no matter what goes
Gos loves ya] God is only using you
[He loves ya (7x’s)] its not yours
[And this battle is not yours] no
[He needs a chance to prove to your enemies that he is God]
its the Lord’s, its the Lord’s not yours
[So what you’ve got to do is, hold on, hold on] its not yours
    [hold on, hold on] yours
[don’t give up (4x’s] its the Lord’s not yours
[Step out on faith] its not yours
    [no, no] no
[I’m so glad that God sees it] its not yours
[and he knows all] its the Lord’s not yours
This battle is not yours, no, it belongs to the Lord
    Hallelujah, yeah

      1. Wow. Good. I was trying to figure out a song to send to her. Well it won’t be this one.

  10. I remember going to the military ball in high school when this song came out. My Aunt just died of an aneurysm. I remember this song helping my cousin through and myself as well to be grateful and thankful for the time that we have on this Earth. It is still one of my favorite songs and reminds me to be humble.

Too many storms have passed your way
And you’re all washed out ’cause it rained on your parade
Seems nobody cares about you anyway
Now you’re living your life like a castaway
Search for strength inside, was it all in vain
‘Cause the deeper you dig you find more and more pain
Don’t let your tomorrow be like yesterday
‘Cause I spoke to God, I called out your name
And on your behalf I just asked
If He would be there for you
I want you to be blessed, don’t live life in distress
Just let go, let God, He’ll work it out for you
I pray that your soul will be blessed
Forever in His hands, for you deserve His best, no less
Enter a place where you never have to cry
Never have to live a lie, never have to wonder why
Never want for nothin’, you’re always satisfied
In the peace that His arms will provide
He will erase any guilt or shame
Any bad habits you got, you won’t wanna do ’em again
Yes, we all can change, I can testify
See, I spoke to God, I called out your name
And on your behalf I just asked
If He would be there for you
I want you to be blessed, don’t live life in distress
Just let go, let God, He’ll work it out for you
(My prayer for you today is) I pray that your soul will be blessed
Forever in His hands, for you deserve His best, no less
My prayer for you today is that you trust and always obey
On His name keep calling (on His name keep calling)
He’ll keep you from fallin’ (He’ll keep you from falling)
He’ll supply the answers (yes, He will)
If you stand in faith and trust Him to make a way
Be blessed, don’t live life in distress
Just let go, let God, He’ll work it out for you
(Work it out for you, I pray)
I pray that your soul will be blessed
Forever in His hands, for you deserve His best, no less
    You’ve been through so much
Be blessed from the bottom of your feet to the crown of your head
Your life be blessed, your family be blessed
Your finances be blessed, everything about you
Give it to Jesus, give it to Jesus

    1. I’ve been listening to the songs you’ve posted and I tell you it is something about these gospel songs that just take all of your worries away.

  11. Yes! I remember this song very much!
As a matter of fact…Marc would always say hold on the best is yet to come. I can here him say that and it sticks to me like glue. This song would remind me of Marc, my late brother of 2016.

Hold on my brother don’t give up
Hold on my sister just look up
There is a master plan in store for you
If you just make it through
God’s gonna really blow your mine
He’s gonna make it worth your time
For all of the troubles you been through
The blessings double just for you
    The best
    Is yet
    To come
    The Best
    The Best is
    Yet To come
Hold on my brother don’t give up
Hold on my sister just look up
There is a master plan in store for you
If you just make it through
God’s gonna really blow your mine
He’s gonna make it worth your time
For all of the troubles you been through
The blessings double just for you
    The best
    Is yet
    To come
    The Best
    The Best is
    Yet To come
Today is the first day of the best days of your life
Today is the first day of the best days of your life
Today is the first day of the best days of your life
    The best
    Is yet
    To come
    The Best
    The Best is
    Yet To come
    You aint seen nothing
    You aint seen nothing Yet
    You aint seen nothing
    You aint seen nothing Yet
    You aint seen nothing
    You aint seen nothing Yet
    You aint seen nothing
    You aint seen nothing Yet
    You aint seen nothing
    You aint seen nothing Yeeeet
    You aint seen nothing
    You aint seen nothing Yet
    You aint seen nothing
    You aint seen nothing Yet
    You aint seen nothing
    You aint seen nothing Yet
    You aint seen nothing
    You aint seen nothing Yeeeet
    You aint seen nothing Yet
    You aint seen nothing Yet
    You aint seen nothing Yet

  12. Now this song I LOOOOVE! It reminds me of someone’s stewed tomatoes and rice and sausage…pig nose you know who I am talking about right. Yep Mr. Davis. and Actually my grandmother too. Loved this. This helped me remember the good times and conversations we shared. Oh. I miss them both and the food LOL.

My soul was sinking in a world of sin
But grace and mercy, it took me in
Took my feet out of the marry clay
And placed them on a rock to stay

    [Vamp]
Oh, what a relief it was
    When God rescued me
He loosed the chains that had me bound
    And He set me free

    And it felt like
    Cooling water
    Cooling water
    Cooling water
    Cooling water
    Cooling water from Grandma’s well

    [Verse 2]
    Sleepless nights
    And so much pain
    Couldn’t see no sunshine
    Nothing but rain
    But God said
Weeping may endure for a night
    But in the morning
    It will be alright

    [Vamp]
Oh, what a relief it was
    When God rescued me
He loosed the chains that had me bound
    And He set me free

    [Chorus]
    And it felt like
    Cooling water
    Cooling water
    Cooling water
    Cooling water
    Cooling water from Grandma’s well
    Praise God
    For the water
    Praise God
    For the water
    Praise God
    For the water

    Cooling water
    Cooling water
    Cooling water
    Cooling water
    Cooling water from Grandma’s well

    1. I was listening to my dads favorite song this morning which just happens to be Cooling Water.

I miss my daddy stewed tomatoes and rice…they can break my lip out any day lol.

      1. LOL. It’s funny how certain foods did not bother us when we were younger but they do now. Strange.

  13. Now this one is a kicker. I would get up in the middle of the night before I had any kids or when I am in the house cleaning I would blast this and just meditate on Jesus. And my soul would cry holy! Yes This would get me moving and get the church rocking!

Down in my soul, Cry, Holy
Down in my soul, Cry, Holy
    Down in my soul
    In my sanctified soul
Down in my soul, Cry, Holy

Down in my soul, Cry, Holy
Down in my soul, Cry, Holy
    Down in my soul
    In my sanctified soul
Down in my soul, Cry, Holy

Now come and moan it with me (x2)

Down in my soul, Cry, Holy
Down in my soul, Cry, Holy
    Down in my soul
    In my sanctified soul
    Down in my soul
    Down in my soul
    Down in my soul
    Down in my soul
    Down in my soul
    Down in my soul
    Down in my soul
Down in my soul, Cry, Holy

    (Wait a minute!
I’m want to get the audience to sing that a little bit with me.
Can y’all sing that a little bit with me. Y’all like that!

See when the music not going and it seem like the devil has got the
victory. Sometime you got to sing it by yourself!)

Down in my soul, Cry, Holy
Down in my soul, Cry, Holy
    Down in my soul
    In my sanctified soul
Down in my soul, Cry, Holy

Now come and moan it with me

Down in my soul, Cry, Holy
Down in my soul, Cry, Holy
    Down in my soul
    In my sanctified soul
Down in my soul, Cry, Holy

      1. The Choir isn’t the same. But it’s still Temple Zion. We need to go. It’s would be nice to hear the choir and of course get the message.

  14. This song helped me through struggling through my failed relationships, my urges to do wrong, to know that when I give up being sinful, that’s when God will bless me. I am choosing God over evil….It’s evil because it’s not of God and we must remember when have to be all the way in with Jesus or All the Way Out. He don’t deal with those Luke Warm Folks….

    THAT’S WHEN HE BLESSED ME
My life was torn beyond repair
I felt so alone, seemed no one cared
You came along, gave me a song
To ease the pain and erase the strain
You could have left me standing there
With no one, no one to care
But You promised me You’d be there on time
And You did just what You said
Against all odds, I made the choice
To give You my life, now I rejoice
You answered my prayers not a moment to soon
Your word I embraced, my sins You erased
    That’s when You bless me
(Oh I let it go) That’s when You bless me
(Lord, You brought me through, now I’m brand new)
    Yes
    That’s when You bless me
(Oh I’m here to stay) That’s when You bless me
(Lord, You promised me You would hear my plea)
And You did just what You said.
Against all odds, I made the choice
To give You my trust, now I rejoice
You answered my prayers not a moment to soon
Your word I embraced, my sins You erased
    That’s when You bless me
(Oh I let it go) That’s when You bless me
(Lord, You brought me through, now I’m brand new)
    Yes
And You did just what You said…
And You did just what You said…
And You did just what You said…

  15. This song is a classic by John P Kee; Standing in the need of prayer. I know I need prayer everyday of my life. I instill prayer into my kids and do it daily. We are all standing in the need of prayer. This song helped me through everything and is still helping me.

It’s me oh Lord – I am Standin’ in the need of prayer, Oooo
It’s me oh Lord – I am Standin’ in the need of prayer

Not my mother, father, sister, or brother, but it is me oh Lord
it is me oh Lord, I am standing in the need of prayer

It’s mighty rough road – Standin’ in the need of prayer
For me to carry my load – Standin’ in the need of prayer

Help me throught the night – Standin in the need of prayer
Show me which way’s right – Standin’ in the need of prayer

I’ve been down so long – Standin’ in the need of prayer
I know I been wrong – Standin’ in the need of prayer

  16. How many of you that went to church daily as a kid was on the children’s mass choir. Well I was and we would sing this song. For one, it rocked the church and it was a fun song to sing. At the time being in a holyness church, a lot of things I saw scared me but I loved when we sang. Yes Sang! So now I reflect on this song knowing what it truly means, God is in control and it the end He is in control. So what ever you are going through know that God got you and his is in Control not matter what it looks like!

    Oh oh oh oh oh
    He’s in control

    Oh oh oh oh oh
    He’s In control

What manner of man is this
    that winds they obey
what manner of man is this
    that even the seas obey
The great one for He created the heavens
    and the earth
God can do just what He wants
God can do just what He wants
God can do just what he wants
    God is in control

Tenors: God is in control (repeating)
Altos2: God is in control (repeating)
Altos1: God is in control (repeating)
    Sopranos: God is in control

  17. Whoa! This song right here gets in up hands in the air, shouting and praising his holy name every time. It’s called Deliver Me! Everyone has a story to tell and every story is different. I am grateful for this website to know a little bit of piece of Whitnee’s story as we see it is still unfolding. I am grateful that she has a site that we can lift up strangers…well I can’t say strangers because how can Christians be strangers if we all have Christ in us, so I will say brothers and sisters. We have an output to put our good and bad on a site to uplift someone else to tell someone it’s ok. God is deliver you from that man, that boss, that drug dealer, and even God is going to deliver you from that evil spirit or that habit, AMEN. So we are all going to have our Exodus AMEN! This song is called Deliver me by Donald Lawrence.

He leads me beside still waters
    He restoreth my soul
    When you become a believer
    Your spirit is made right
And sometimes, the soul doesn’t get to notice
It has a hole in it
Due to things that’s happened in the past
    Hurt, abuse, molestation
But we wanna speak to you today and tell you
That God wants to heal the hole in your soul
Some people’s actions are not because their spirit is wrong
But it’s because the past has left a hole in their soul
May this wisdom help you get over your past
And remind you that God wants to heal the hole in your soul
I have my sister Le’Andria here
She’s gonna help me share this wisdom
    And tell this story
    Lord
    Deliver me, yeah
‘Cause all I seem to do is hurt me
    Hurt me, yeah
    Lord
    Deliver me
‘Cause all I seem to do is hurt me
    (Yes, sir)
    Hurt me, yeah, yeah
(I know we should be finishing but)
(Sing it for me two more times)
    Lord
    Deliver me, yeah
‘Cause all I seem to do is hurt me
    (Na-ha)
    Hurt me
    (One more time)
    Yeah
    Lord
    (Oh)
    Deliver me
‘Cause all I seem to do is hurt me, yeah
    Hurt me, yeah
    Whoa, yeah
    And my background said
    (Whoa-whoa, Lord)
    Oh yeah (deliver me)
God rescued me from myself, from my overthinking
    If you’re listening out there
Just repeat after me if you’re struggling with your past
    And say it
    (Oh, Lord, oh)
Let the Lord know, just say it, oh
    (Oh, Lord, Lord)
He wants to restore your soul
    He said
    (Deliver me)
    Hey
If my people, who are called by my name
    Will move themselves and pray
    (Deliver me)
Seek my face, turn from their wicked ways
    I will hear from Heaven
    Break it on down
    So it is
    It is so
    Amen
    Now when we pray
Wanna end that with a declaration, a decree
So I’m speaking for all of you listening
    Starting here, starting now
The things that hurt you in the past won’t control your future
Starting now, this is a new day
This is your exodus, you are officially released
Now sing it for me Le’Andria
    Yeah
    (This is my Exodus)
    I’m saying goodbye
    (This is my Exodus)
    To the old me, yeah
    (This is my Exodus)
    Oh, oh, oh
    (Thank you, Lord)
    And I’m saying hello
    (Thank you, Lord)
To the brand new me, yeah
    (Thank you, Lord)
    Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
    This is
    (This is my Exodus)
    I declare it
    (This is my Exodus)
    And I decree
    (This is my Exodus)
Oh this is, this day, this day is why I thank you, Lord
    (This is my Exodus)
    (Thank you, Lord)
    Around
    (Thank you, Lord)
    For you and for me
    (Thank you, Lord)
    Yeah-hey-hey-yeah
    Now, Lord God
    (This is my Exodus)
    Now, Lord God
    (This is my Exodus)
    It is my
    (This is my Exodus)
The things that sent to break me down
    (This is my Exodus)
    Hey-hey-hey, hey-hey-hey, hey-hey-hey, hey-yeah
    (Thank you, Lord)
    (Thank you, Lord)
    Every weapon
    (Thank you, Lord)
God is you and to me, there for me

  18. How many of you have ever watched the show Mary Jane with Gabrielle Union. If you ever notice she keeps post its on her bathroom mirrors. I believe they were affirmations. That is a very good habit to do. Our Mind that God gave us is very powerful. A good habit would be is to speak life over ourselves, friends, family and loved ones. here are some to speak daily:
I am allowed to be myself and show people who I am.
I allow people to show up for me.
I am loving, loved, and lovable.
I attract genuine friendships with people who want the best for me.
My connections with others are steeped in good intentions.
I create space for people to show up for me.
    I find strength in vulnerability.
The love I have for myself increases my capacity to love others.
I am always headed in the right direction.
By shining my light, I help others shine theirs.
I don’t have to earn my worth.
I belong in any space I walk into.
I focus on what gives me energy. My energy serves as my compass.
Being me is how I win.
I am my best source of inspiration.
    I am loved and supported.
    My self-worth is high.
I am the best version of myself just as I am.
I find new ways to come home to myself each day.
    I am unconditionally worthy.
I am gentle with myself through all transitions.
Regardless of the outcome, I am supported.
My feelings are valid and I honor them all.
I allow myself to feel so I can heal.
I am stepping into my power.
I inhale my dreams and exhale my fears.
I release what doesn’t reciprocate my energy.
I trust the timing of my life.
    I find peace through discipline.
I am becoming a better version of myself each day.
My energy is palpable when I walk into a room.
How others perceive me doesn’t define me.
I have everything to gain by releasing the grip of shame.
By acknowledging my inner child, I am one step closer to healing.
I accept radical responsibility for creating my dream life.
My heart and mind are open and ready for new experiences.
I am energetically aligned to all I desire.
I find small ways to receive each day.
I achieve my goals by focusing on one at a time.
I don’t need all the answers to remain grounded in this moment.
I am clear and direct with my manifestations.
I tap into my magic by trusting my intuition.
    My actions match my goals
    My greatest glow-up is internal.
I manifest things as they should be, not as I want them.
I attract what I want by being who God declares I am.
I honor my commitment to take care of myself.
Pausing is an act of self-compassion.
    Play is necessary and restorative.
I move my body in ways that bring me joy.
Rest is a top priority for me.
By doing less, I am able to receive more.
I fill my free time with freedom.
When I get overwhelmed, I turn to my breath.
My play is as important as my work.
    I prioritize my peace.

I call all of this encouraging yourself. That is the title of this song and we all need encouraging.
Sometimes you have to encourage yourself
Sometimes you have to speak victory during the test
And no matter how you feel
Speak the word, and you will be healed
    Speak over yourself
    Encourage yourself in the Lord
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Sometimes you (sometimes you) have to encourage yourself
Gotta pat your own self on the back, yeah, yeah
Sometimes you have to speak victory during the test
And no matter how you feel (no matter how you feel)
Speak the word over your life, oh, oh
Speak the word, and you will be healed (you will be healed)
Speak over yourself (speak over yourself)
Encourage yourself (encourage yourself) in the Lord
    Oh, oh, oh
    Oh, oh
Sometimes you have to speak a word over yourself
    Depression is all around
    But God is present help
    Well, the enemy created walls
But remember giants, they do fall
    Speak over yourself
Encourage yourself in the Lord, oh
As I minister to you, oh I minister to myself
    Life can hurt you so
‘Til you feel there’s nothing left
(No matter how you feel) no matter how you feel
Speak the word over your life, and you will be healed
You will be healed (speak over yourself)
Sometimes you gotta look yourself in the mirror
And tell yourself, “I can make it” (Speak over yourself)
You gotta remember that’s life’s a death lock in the power of your own tongue
(Speak over yourself and you will be healed)
Even if nobody tells you, you can run on
You tell yourself (speak over yourself) hey
You gotta remember, I’m more than a conqueror
Hey, where there is weakness in me
    (I’m encouraged)
I believe everything that the Lord said about me
    (I’m encouraged)
Everything the enemy ever told me, it’s a lie, it’s a lie
    (I’m encouraged)
    Yeah, yeah, yeah
    I am encouraged
    (I’m encouraged)
    Oh, yes I am
    Oh, yes I am
    (I’m encouraged)
    Hey, hey, hey, hey
    (I’m encouraged)
    Hey, hey, hey, hey
I will life up mine eyes unto the hills, yeah
    (I’m encouraged)
All of my help, all of my help comes from the Lord, yeah
    (I’m encouraged)
I believe, I believe everything he said about me
    Oh, yes I am
    (I’m encouraged)
    Oh, yes I am
    (I’m encouraged)
    Oh, yes I am
    (I’m encouraged)
    Hey, I am
    (I’m encouraged)
I’m believe it’s gonna run on
I’m gonna run on and see what the end’s gonna be
    (I’m encouraged)
I know something better is out there waiting for me
    (I’m encouraged)
I believe everything the Lord said about me
    (I’m encouraged)
    Speak over yourself
    Encourage yourself in the Lord
    Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
    How many people encouraged tonight?
    Right, while they…
Tryin’ to give them a little minute to catch their breath
    Let me catch mine
    That’s right, that’s right
    Speak over yourself

  19. Now this next song is a hard one sometimes not to do. There is someone that is always doing better than the next person. Seems like someone always have a reason to Complain about this or complain about that. When I get everything settled like I want to if possible, I wanted to start a dance ministry to keep our young folks occupied in the church. I wanted to teach EJ and William a mime dance to this song and I will. How many of us can go without complaining. The Book of Joshua Chapter 6 tells us the story of the walls of Jericho. God revealed His plan of victory to Joshua. The plan was for the children of Israel to walk around the walls seven days in a row. They were to keep silent as they marched. For six days they marched around that wall in silence. Ask yourselves…
What if they didn’t walk around the walls in silence as instructed to do. How many of us can say that they could here someone starting to complain…..I can hear it now my feet hurt, I’m tiered, but thank God they were obedient and walk in silence. On the seventh day, they again marched around that wall. This day was to be different. This day the walls would come down. When the trumpets blew, Joshua told the people to shout. And shout they did! As they shouted the walls came down.

I won’t complain by Rev. Paul Jones
    I’ve had some good days
I’ve had some hills to climb
    I’ve had some weary days
    And some sleepless nights
But when I, when I look around
    And I think things over
    All of my good days
    Outweigh my bad days
    I, I won’t complain
    Sometimes the clouds hang low
I can hardly see the road
    I ask a question, Lord
    Lord, why so much pain?
But He knows what’s best for me
    Although my weary eyes
    They can’t see
So I’ll just say thank You, Lord
    I, I won’t complain
The Lord as been so good to me (Has He been good?)
    He’s been good to me
More than this whole world or you could ever be
He’s been so good to me
    You know what He did?
He, He dried all of my tears away
    Turned my midnights into day
So I’ll just say thank you, Lord
    I’ve been lied on
    But thank You, Lord
    I’ve been talked about
    But thank You, Lord
    I’ve been misunderstood
    But thank You Lord
    You might be sick
    Body wracked with pain
    But thank You, Lord
    The bills are due
Don’t know where the money coming from
    But thank You, Lord
    Thank You, Lord
    Thank You, Lord
I want, hey, hey, hey, hey, I want to thank God, God, God
God has been so good to me
    He’s been good to me
More than this whole world or you could ever be
    He’s been so good
    He’s been so good
    He’s been so good
    So good
    So good
    So good
    So good
To me, me, me, me, me, me, me
He, He dried all of my tears away
He ever stop you from crying?
    Turned my midnight into day

  20. This next song is about Faith and Belief. It says I’ll have my mansion now…oooh I believe. This song had me up and church clapping my hands stomping my feet, shouting glory to God.
Jesus says in John 14, “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also” (John 14:1–3).

    I’ll have my mansion now
    I believe, I believe, I believe
Yeah, I’ll have my mansion now
I believe, I believe just what He said
I’ll do all things through Christ
    I believe, I believe, I believe
I’ll do all things through Christ
I believe, I believe just what He said
    He shall supply my need
    I believe, I believe, I believe
    He shall supply my need
I believe, I believe just what He said
    By faith, I believe it
    By faith, I receive it
By faith, I can have it
By faith, I can share it
I believe just what He said
    I’ll have my mansion now
    I believe, I believe, I believe
    I’ll have my mansion now
I believe, I believe just what He said
He worked it out for me
    I believe, I believe, I believe
He worked it out for me
I believe, I believe just what He said
By faith, I will know it
By faith, I will show it
By faith, I will bare it
    And now I declare it
I believe just what He said
    I’ll have my mansion now
    I believe, I believe, I believe
    I’ll have my mansion now
I believe, I believe just what He said
    I believe, I believe
    I believe, I believe, I believe
    I believe, I believe
I believe, I believe just what He said
    I’ll have my mansion now
    I believe, I believe, I believe
    Have my mansion now
I believe, I believe just what He said
    He loosed the guilty stain
    I believe, I believe, I believe
All the guilt is gone away
I believe, I believe just what He said

  21. Now the next song I soooooo love. There are actually 2 similar songs but same meaning. One song is by Bishop Ronald E. Brown and Douglas Miller. Now if you want to get up and dance I recommend Bishop Ronald E. Brown. That song weighs in me from my Late Grandmother Hun. The other song is slower and you can still praise and worship it’s just slower. I love both.

First one There’s a Storm Out on the Ocean
There’s a storm out on the ocean and its moving this a way
If your soul’s not anchored in Jesus you will surely drift away
Drift away Lord drift away you will surely drift away
If your soul’s not anchored in Jesus you will surely drift away

Second My Soul is Anchored in the Lord
Though the storms keep on raging in my life
And sometimes it’s hard to tell the night from day
Still that hope that lies within is reassured
As I keep my eyes upon the distant shore
I know He’ll lead me safely to that blessed place He has prepared
But if the storms don’t cease
And if the winds keep on blowing
My soul has been anchored in the Lord
Though the storms keep on raging in my life
And sometimes it’s hard to tell the night from day
Still that hope that lies within is reassured
As I keep my eyes upon the distant shore
I know He’ll lead me safely to that blessed place He has prepared
But if the storms don’t cease
And if the winds keep on blowing in my life
My soul has been anchored in, in the Lord
Oh, I realize that sometimes in this life, we’re gonna be tossed
By the waves and the currents that seem so fierce
But in the Word of God, I’ve got an anchor
And it keeps me steadfast and unmovable
    Despite the tides
But if, if the storms don’t cease
And just in case the winds, they keep on blowing in my life
My soul, my soul’s been anchored in, in the Lord
In the Lord, in the Lord
My soul, my soul’s been anchored in, in the Lord
My soul, my soul been anchored
My, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my
My soul, my soul been anchored, my soul been anchored
    My soul been anchored
My, my, my, my, my, my, my soul, my soul
The pillars may roll, the breakers may dash
I shall not sway because He holds me fast
So dark the day, clouds in the sky
I know it’s alright ’cause Jesus is mine
And my soul, my soul, my soul, my soul, my soul
My, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my soul

  22. I remember having a conversation with my friend at the time. He was once a Christian, but now he believes more in science now. I asked him what made him leave Christianity and he says well isn’t it obvious? I said no. He stated well maybe not you Christians are a bunch of hypocrites and that’s why I dont’ follow them anymore. I told him well that’s a good thing you don’t follow them anymore but please remember they are not perfect and need grace just like you. He looked at me puzzled and said why are you glad I’m not following Christians, are you one. I stated yes and I follow Christ not Christians because Jesus Christ is the one to follow not his followers if that makes any since. He then just said hmmmm and then began talking about something else. I don’t pressure or did pressure him to come back. Christians need to be aware of our actions and pay attention to who is looking and listening. So we are not perfect but if true indeed if we are following Christ as we should our lives, walk, talk, our actions should show so that others will follow. This next song is by Reverend Timothy Wright Yes I’m a believer.
    Yes I’m a believer
    Yes I’m a believer

  23. This next song gives me comfort for a special someone in my life that is going through with leukemia. This song let’s me know she is safe in God’s Arms and I should not worry nor fret. Regardless of the circumstances. I know that she will be safe in his arms. Whitnee I found my song.
Because the Lord is my shepherd
    I have everything I need
He lets me rest in the meadows grass
And He leads me besides the quiet stream
    He restores my failing hands
And helps me to do what honors
    That’s why I’m safe
    Safe in His arms
When the storm of life is raging
    And the billows roll
So glad He shall hide me
    Safe in His arms
So glad, He shall hide me
    Safe in His arms

  28. I remember when I had EJ. He was so little. I tell EJ this story over and over but for a purpose so he never forgets it. I had just put him on a outfit that I bought that was too big. I was changing his diaper for the first time. Unprepared me got peed on and EJ got some pee in his own eyes. I was so scared I called the Nurse. Thinking back they probably laughed at me…but it’s ok. At 27 my first baby without any guidance no nieces or nephews so I didn’t; know much about babies other than Dominique’s kids but she mainly handled them. So I prayed and asked God to please help me take care of him the right way on this journey called Life…and guess what almost 10 years later here we are! God is so good and so faithful to His Word and Promise. My EJ loves Jesus and is on the right path. Thank you God. We Serve a Faithful God.

  29. We all need to know that all of our help comes from the Lord. This song has helped when when I was down worried about bills and finances; however I stopped it because the Lord said not to worry and I didn’t and ,my help came from the Lord. This next song is just that.

I will lift up mine eyes to the hills
    From whence cometh my help
My help cometh from the Lord
The Lord which made heaven and earth
He said he would not suffer thy foot
    Thy foot to be moved
    The Lord which keepeth thee
He will not slumber nor sleep
Oh the Lord is thy keeper
    The Lord is thy shade
    Upon thy right hand
    Upon thy right hand
No, the sun shall not smite thee by day
    Nor the moon by night
    He shall preserve thy soul
    Even forever more
My help, my help, my help
All of my help cometh from the Lord
I will lift up mine eyes to the hills
    From whence cometh my help
My help cometh from the Lord
The Lord which made heaven and earth
He said he would not suffer thy foot
    Thy foot to be moved
    The Lord which keepeth thee
He will not slumber nor sleep
Oh the Lord is thy keeper
    The Lord is thy shade
    Upon thy right hand
    Upon thy right hand
No, the sun shall not smite thee by day
    Nor the moon by night
    He shall preserve thy soul
    Even forever more
My help, my help, my help
All of my help cometh from the Lord
Oh the Lord is thy keeper
Oh the Lord is thy keeper
The Lord is thy shade (the Lord is thy shade)
Upon thy right hand, upon thy right hand
No the sun shall not smite thee (no the sun shall not smite me by day)
Nor the moon by night, he shall preserve thy soul even for ever more (even for ever more)
My help (my help) my help (comes from you Lord Jesus) my help (all of my help) all of my help cometh from the Lord
My help (I can count on you Jesus), my help, ’cause I know you are, all of my help
All of my help cometh from the Lord
All of my help cometh from the Lord
I wanted to live, I wanted to die (all of my help) all of my help (cometh from the Lord)
(My help) my help (my help) comes from you Lord Jesus (my help) all of my help (all of my help)
Cometh from the Lord (my help), I can count on you Jesus, ’cause I know you will
All of my help (all of my help) cometh from my Lord (my help)
I know I can make it (my help) ’cause I know you will be there
All of my help cometh from my Lord
All of my help cometh from the Lord

  30. Upset?- I come to this verse when I am upset and meditate on it.

Here is some comfort as Jesus has comforted his disciples.

    John 14
14 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God[a]; believe also in me. 2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going.”

  31. Feeling Weak? I use this to help me.

    Psalm 18:1-29

1 I love you, O LORD, my strength.

2 The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn [1] of my salvation, my stronghold.
    3
I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies.
    4
The cords of death entangled me; the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me.
    5
The cords of the grave [2] coiled around me; the snares of death confronted me.
    6
In my distress I called to the LORD; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears.
    7
The earth trembled and quaked, and the foundations of the mountains shook; they trembled because he was angry.
    8
Smoke rose from his nostrils; consuming fire came from his mouth, burning coals blazed out of it.
    9
He parted the heavens and came down; dark clouds were under his feet.
    10
He mounted the cherubim and flew; he soared on the wings of the wind.
    11
He made darkness his covering, his canopy around him– the dark rain clouds of the sky.
    12
Out of the brightness of his presence clouds advanced, with hailstones and bolts of lightning.
    13
The LORD thundered from heaven; the voice of the Most High resounded. [3]
    14
He shot his arrows and scattered [the enemies], great bolts of lightning and routed them.
    15
The valleys of the sea were exposed and the foundations of the earth laid bare at your rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of breath from your nostrils.
    16
He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters.
    17
He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me.
    18
They confronted me in the day of my disaster, but the LORD was my support.
    19
He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me.
    20
The LORD has dealt with me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands he has rewarded me.
    21
For I have kept the ways of the LORD; I have not done evil by turning from my God.
    22
All his laws are before me; I have not turned away from his decrees.
    23
I have been blameless before him and have kept myself from sin.
    24
The LORD has rewarded me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his sight.
    25
To the faithful you show yourself faithful, to the blameless you show yourself blameless,
    26
to the pure you show yourself pure, but to the crooked you show yourself shrewd.
    27
You save the humble but bring low those whose eyes are haughty.
    28
You, O LORD, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.
    29
With your help I can advance against a troop [4] ; with my God I can scale a wall.

  32. When I am down, I remember that I have friends who will help me get through. I am grateful for middle/high school friends, Whitnee, Tatayana, Jasmine, and Jamika. Each one very unique in their own way. I am glad that even though Life happens one can be there for each other. Much love ladies 20 years plus. Sometimes a good conversation or prayer will help any situation plus a good laugh. This next song is What A Friend we have in Jesus.
What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.
Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He’ll take and shield you; you will find a solace there.
Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised Thou wilt all our burdens bear
May we ever, Lord, be bringing all to Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon in glory bright unclouded there will be no need for prayer
Rapture, praise and endless worship will be our sweet portion there.

    1. Thanking God for my relationships, friendships, and the sisterhood that has been bonded over the years.

Well spoken/written. We each have a specific spot that is equally unique and special in their own ways.

I must say though out of all my friendships, I’m most happiest to have a friend in Jesus!

  33. I know with me…I am really hard on myself with my thoughts…especially when I have negative thoughts. Even when a negative thought starts to form. I stop it and tell myself, if it’s not of Christ, I rebuke the thought in Jesus name. I continually tell myself God is in me and Our Father is the greatest. I have greatness living on the inside of me, so therefore I am great. I am just so glad that our Father is a God of a second chance. That’s my next song…
Lord I need to feel the touch of Your hand
Your will for my life I want to understand
Lord forgive me like only You can
For your the God of a second chance
Lord I’m tired of the way that I am
In Your love I want to live and stand
To adhere to Your every command
For You’re the God of a second chance
For You’re the God of a second chance
    Show me
    All of my wrongs
    Forgive me
    And make strong
    Oh Save me
    Restore my song
For You’re the God of a second chance
    Show me
    All of my wrongs
    Forgive me
    And make strong
    Oh Save me
    Restore my song
For You’re the God of a second chance
    You gave me
    A second chance
You forgave me like only You can
    YOu gave me
    A second chance
    You gave me
    A second chance
You forgave me like only You can
    YOu gave me
    A second chance

  34. Sometimes being a prisoner of your own mind have you doing sinful addicting behaviors….But you hear God Calling your name….I am thanking God for his grace and mercy. This next song is Your Calling my name by Hezekiah Walker
How many times do I go against Your will
    then You forgive me
but yet I still turn around and do the things
    the things I shouldn’t do
    cuz I belong to You
and I know You will come through
Lord I know I take advantage of Your grace
    here in this Christian race
but yet I still hear You calling my name
    solo:
How many times, would it take for me to learn
that it’s only in Your will that I’ll ever earn
I’ll ever earn my life’s reward
the honor due to me oh
    life eternally
    riches in glory
    Lord I know, I know I don’t belong
with You cuz I’ve done wrong
oh but yet I still hear You calling my name
solo ad libs as choir follows:
You’re calling my name to come into Your arms
to be safe from fear and harm
knowing this but I still choose to go my way
then You still say, You say that I am He
who will supply your every need
oh Lord I’ve sinned but You’re still calling my name
    (3x’s)
oh Lord I’ve sinned but You’re still calling my name
    (4x’s)

  35. Well, now that Deanna is resting. I believe the Lord is sending my husband my way. I will continue to patiently wait. God always has a way of taking someone away but then send in reinforcements whether they are in your life just for a season, a month, ect. God knows me best. If I was to ever get married, It would be to Donald Nelson Forever. I absolutely love this song and wanted Deanna to be standing there watching me…but now she will be watching from Heaven, her and Marc and everyone else.
    Forever
    I’ll be committed to you
    I’ll never leave you
Nothing in this world could make walk away
No matter what life may bring
    I’ll be by your side
    No matter what you face
    You won’t be lonely

    Because
    Forever is a long time
That’s how long I’ll love you
That’s how long I’ll love you
    Forever

    Forever is a long time
That’s how long I’ll love you
That’s how long I’ll love you
    Forever

No matter what life may bring
    I’ll be by your side
    No matter what you face
    You won’t be lonely
And this is my promise to you
    My love is everlasting
    You can count on me
    To be there always
    Forever is

    Forever is a long time
That’s how long I’ll love you
That’s how long I’ll love you
    Forever

    Forever is a long time
That’s how long I’ll love you
That’s how long I’ll love you
    Forever

    Forever is a long time
That’s how long I’ll love you
That’s how long I’ll love you
    Forever

    I’ll love you
    I’ll love you
    I’ll love you
    Forever

    I’ll love you
    I’ll love you
    I’ll love you
    Forever

    I’ll love you
    I’ll love you
    I’ll love you
    Forever

    I’m committed to you
    I’m committed to you
    I’m committed to you
    Forever

    I’m committed to you
    I’m committed to you
    I’m committed to you
    Forever

    I’m committed to you
    I’m committed to you
    I’m committed to you
    Forever

    Forever and ever and ever
    Forever and ever and ever
    Forever and ever and ever

    Somebody, hear the Lord say

    Forever and ever and ever
    Forever and ever and ever
    Forever and ever and ever
    Forever…

  36. This next song is a reminder that God is who He says He is. This song helps me to remind the world that God does not make any mistakes. It’s by Donald Lawrence.
I am God all by myself
    I don’t need any help

I can handle things on my own
I am the first and the last
    whatever you need just ask

For I am, I am, I am God
I was there in the beginning
    And I’ll be there when
    you get to the end

    I’m all seeing, all knowing
    almighty, ever showing
For I am, I am, I am God

I was there in the beginning yeah
And I’ll be there when you get to the end

    I’m all seeing, all knowing
    almighty, ever showing

    For I am, I am, for I am, I am, I am
    For I am, I am, I am, I am, I am God

All my promises are yeah, I am God
All my promises are yeah, I am God

I am the first, the last
    whatever you need just ask
    For I am, I am, I am, I am, I am, I am

    Jehova Jireh, your provider,
    I am, I am

Jehova Nissi I’ll fight your battles
    I am, I am

Jehova Shalom, I give you peace
    I am, I am

    Jehova Rohi, I’ll hear thee
    I am, I am

Just stand still and know that I am

    No mountains too high
    and no valley’s too low
    I am, I am

No river too wide, wherever you go
    I am, I am
(Just stand still and know that I am)

The God of Jacob, the God of Isaac
    the God of shepherds

(Just stand still and know that I am)

    I am, I am, I am, I am, I am, I am

  37. Ever feel like you have been tempted time and time again….seems like when you are doing good then temptation is right around the corner and you are fighting temptation with all your might. It’s like your have a good angel on your right shoulder and a little devil on your left. shoulder. You are struggling to do the right thing. Then what helps me is when I think about the goodness of Jesus and all what he is done for me….I can’t do what he displeases him. I cant back slide. That’s another song that comes to mind. Shirley Caesar.
    I am God-Donald Lawrence
    Right after I first believed,
The cross followed me, yes, it did.
And right after I first received,
The cross followed me, I know it did.
For Christ has nailed my hands,
And Christ has nailed my feet,
I’m crucified with Christ and these nails keep holding me.
There were some things I wanted to do,
But I couldn’t do them because I love Him too much.
And there were some pla-, places I wanted to go,
But I couldn’t go because I love Him too much.
My love for Him so strong,
It hurts every time I do wrong,
(I’m crucified with Christ and these nails keep holdin’ me)
No, it’s not I, but it’s Christ who lives in me.
I’m not my own, I’m bought with a price,
    Paid my price, who gave His life, what a sacrifice;
I’m crucified with Christ and these nails keep holding me.
No, it’s not I, but it’s Christ who lives in me.
I’m not my own, I’m bought with a price,
    Paid my price, who gave His life, what a sacrifice;
    I’m crucified with Christ…
    Vamp 1:
    These nails, these nails,
These nails keep holding me, I’m crucified.
    Vamp 2:
    These nails, these nails,
    Keep holding me, I’m crucified.

Shirley Caesar-I Can’t Give Up Now
    I can’t give up now
I’ve gone too far to turn around

I’ve gone down throught the years… Ive shead so many tears
Sometimes on my journey my body gets racked with pain
But i know that my work down here, it won’t be in vain
I got a few more rocks and reels till i make it to the top of the hill
I’m too close to my journey’s end
To turn back in a world of sin

  38. When I was younger and sinning and felt like I needed a redo. This song is by Hezekiah Walker. It’s a simple song but gets your spirit moving and uplifted.

    Won’t He make you
    Clean inside.
    Won’t He make you
    Clean inside.
    Won’t He make you
    Clean inside.
    Won’t He make you
    Clean inside.

  39. This song reminds me of my Grandmother Hun. She used to praise God clapping her hands and humming while swaying back and forth. She once told me of a story when her mother was a little girl and worked on a farm and a slave girl was beaten in front of everyone because she told the truth about her situation. I could never fathom what that felt like. I am glad my Grandma was around to tell me this story. Show’s how far we have come and should be grateful. There are a lot of other worse conditions and situations. This is a good tambourine song hand clapping song. It’s by Ronald E. Brown. Let’s go Down By the River. I love it. Songs says slaves use to sing songs in code to meeting places.

    Let’s down by the river
There is joy by the river.
Let’s go down by the river.
There is love by the river.
Meet me down by the river.
Let’s go down Let’s go down by the river.

  40. Have you ever felt so good that you just want to praise Jesus All day and all night? Well I have. This song is also by Bishop Ronald E. Brown. It’s called Enjoying Jesus and yes, you better get your tambourine, your wash board, and get ready to clap those hands! Yes. Another simple song but powerful! I encourage you Whitnee to upload the video. I absolutely love it and it uplifts my spirit.

    Enjoying Jesus Halleujah!
Feeling mighty happy, feeling mighty fine enjoying Jesus Halleujah!

  41. You ever feel the need to really let Jesus in your Heart? This next song is by Ronald E. Bishop. Let HIM In. Ok. You caught me. I’m shouting right now. This is another tambourine, dancing, shouting song oh and not to mention double clapping and stomping my feet! AND what ever you do, let Jesus In. This is another song Whitnee you should upload. I need to keep my dancing shoes on cause I am Letting Jesus In. These are the main words but such a moving song down to your bones!!!

    Won’t you Let Him In?
Hike up window, Open up your door
    Let Him Come on In.
    Won’t you let him in?
    Won’t you let him in?
    Won’t you let him in?

    1. I promise you I have never heard of these songs. Okay I see you. When we having the concert at your house?

  42. So when Marc was in the hospital, maybe EJ can tell you this song “God is Keeping Me” I use to blast and pray to God for God to keep Him. So when Marc passed, I was hurt and didn’t understand, but know I know God kept him. This song will rock the church and it rocks my house Full Blast, because that’s how I play it every time. It Rocks my Soul Every Time. This song is by The Mississippi Mass Choir.

I want you to know that
    (God is keeping me)
    Want you to know that
    (God is keeping me)
He blessed me and He kept me from all harm

I want you to know that
    (God is keeping me)
    Want you to know that
    (God is keeping me)
Oh, He blessed me and He kept me from all harm

If you’ve got your health and strength
    You ought to say
    (God is keeping me)
If you got the activities of your limbs, thank God, yeah
    (God is keeping me)
He blessed me and He kept me from all harm

If you got food and clothing you ought to say (God is keeping me)
If you know God opens doors for you, thank God, yeah
    (God is keeping me)
He blessed me and He kept me from all harm

If you got food and clothing you ought to say (God is keeping me)
If you know he opened doors for you
(God is keeping me) oh, He blessed me and He kept me from all harm

God is (God is) yes, he is (God is keeping me)
Oh, yes (oh yes) oh, yes (God is keeping me)

If you are down in trouble and the devil came in to your home, the Lord stop it
And he make the devil leave you alone
And I know, I was about to lose my mind
The Lord helped me and he did it on time
    I say a-twenty-six, twenty-six degrees
    Says God will keep you
    In his country soon
God is, God is keeping me
It was the state of my life
    I, I believe
    Oh, Lord, oh, Lord
    Oh, Lord
    Come on, children
    Come on, come on, children
He’s the keeper of my throne
    I know he is
    Oh, Jesus
    Come on, Lord
    I need your help
    I can’t take it
Thank you for my home, oh
He blessed me and he kept me from all harm
    Yeah, yeah
    Somebody say yeah, say yeah
    Yeah
I know he is, I know he is
God is keeping me (God is keeping me)
    God is keeping me
    He blessed my children
    He kept my home
    Oh, Lord
    I need you right now
He’s the keeper of my throne
    Oh-oh
He blessed me, ah, ah, ah
    Yeah, yeah-yeah
He love right, God so right, yeah

  43. So…I never told you I was a miracle. So I was told that I wasn’t suppose to be here at the age of 4 when a car hit me. Broken bones, leg in a split, causing be to develop scoliosis years later, having surgeries later and here I am. I am still here giving God the Glory. God knows my name. And this song we have sang on Eau Claire Baptist praise team. God knows our name and he will call on us if we just listen. This song is by Tasha Cobbs. Lord knows this song helps me and have me in tears screaming victory in Jesus!

    He knows my name
    He knows my name
    He knows my name
    He knows my name

And oh how he walks with me
Oh how he talks with me, yea
    Oh how he tells me
    That I am his own

    You know my name
    You know my name
    You know my name, hmm
    You know my name

And oh how you comfort me
And oh how you counsel me, hey
    It still amazes me
    That I am your friend

So now, I pour out my heart to you, yea
Here in your presence I am made new, oh

So now, I pour out my heart to you
I give you my heart Lord
Here in your presence I am made new

    You know my name
Sings this before him, say you know my name
    You know my name
    You know my name
    Say you know my name
    You know my name

    Oh
And oh how you walk with me
Oh how you talk with me
    Oh how you tell me
    That I am your own

    Oh
    God you know me
So I trust you with my life

    Oh
    No fire can burn me
    No battle can turn me
    No mountain can stop me
    Cause you hold my hand
    I’m walking in your victory
Cause your power is within me
    No giant can defeat me
    Cause you hold my hand

    No fire
    No fire can burn me
    No battle
    No battle can turn me
    No mountain
    No mountain can stop me
    Why because
    You hold my hand
Oh I’m walking, yea, in your victory
    Cause your power
Cause your power is within me
    No giant
    No giant can defeat me
    You hold my hand
    Cause you hold my hand

    No fire
    No fire can burn me
    No battle can turn me
No mountain, not gonna stop me
    No mountain can stop me
    Cause you hold my hand
    Cause you hold my hand
    I’m walking, yea
    I’m walking in your victory
Cause your power, it lives within me
Cause your power is within me
    No giant can defeat me
    You hold my hand
    Cause you hold my hand

    You hold my hand
    You hold my hand
I don’t have to have to be afraid, no
    You hold my hand
I don’t have to have to be afraid, no
    You hold my hand
I don’t have to have to be afraid
    You hold my hand

    You hold my hand
    You hold my hand
    You hold my hand
    You hold my hand
I’m so in love with you
    You hold my hand
I’m so in love with you
    You hold my hand

    You hold my hand
    You hold my hand
    Oh
    You hold my hand
    You hold my hand
    You hold my hand
    You hold my hand
    You hold my hand

    You know my name
    You know my name
    Haha, sing
    You know my name
    You know my name

Oh how you walk with me
Oh how you walk with me
I’m in love with you Lord
Oh how you talk with me
    Just to commune with you
    Oh how you tell me
    That I am your own

    1. I knew what happened and I thank God for testifying just so people see how far God brought you.

  44. Have you or a family member have been the black sheep in your family? I have a family member or two that feel that way. I know it can be hurtful for them especially if they constantly have hurt the family or yourself or just have been a nuisance to everyone and everything….And who are we to judge right? John 8:7 says “Those without sin cast the first stone.” We All Have Sinned…And God is a God of a second chance, and third chance and so forth. God says to love everybody even your enemies. That seems to be hard sometimes but we must do it so that we may enter the kingdom of Heaven. A Family Member states that He listens to this song when He feel that everyone is just looking at his wrongs…This song is Marvin Sapp He Saw the Best in Me.

He saw the best in me,
    When everyone else around
Could only see the worst in me,

(Can I tell ya’ll one more time, one more time?)

I said he saw the best in me,
    When everyone else around
Could only see the worst in me,
(I wish I had a witness tonight, all I need is one)
    Heyyy,

  45. I am so grateful that we have a merciful God. How many of us had merciful parents or grandparents. I know that I didn’t lol. My grandmother tore me up with a wet towel for things that I didn’t think deserved a popping for, but who was I, I was a curious little girl and got popped the first time. Aren’t we glad that we have a God that we can ask for forgiveness for and repent. I’m not saying that our actions don’t have consequences. We must make righteous decisions being we know right from wrong. Well this next song is one of my favorites and it says Great is your Mercy by Donnie McClurkin.

Great is Your mercy towards me
    Jesus Your love and kindness
I can’t do this without crying, towards me
But is Your tender mercy, I can see
    Every day after day
A brand new mercy every day
More of Your love every day
More of Your help every day
    New determination every day
A new reason for living every day
A new dine of life every day
To show forth Your wonders every day
To stand in Your presence every day
To tell of all Your mercy every day
    After day
    Forever faithful towards me
And You’re always providing for me (can you help me sing?)
Great is Your mercy towards me
    Great is Your grace
Great is Your mercy towards me
(Your love and kindness) Your love and kindness towards me
(Your tender mercy, Lord) Your tender mercy, I see
(Day after day) day after day (every day after day, day after day)

  46. Have you ever been called ungrateful and felt unappreciated. I know I have. I have felt that way from many jobs. I would come in and do everything possible so that my manager would have to do as little as possible or what she must do. In return, I have not gotten that thank your or I appreciate you being here doing the majority of the work. I did not get anything except for an attitude and more attitude. Well I am here today to tell you that the reason I stayed and hung in there was because I know the reason I go there. It’s not for her, it’s not for me, but it’d to Glorify God. God gets all the glory. God sees all and knows all. So things will turn around for me and it did. I am so grateful to God and all that he has and is going to bless me with. All the negativity doesn’t matter. God will turn it around for your good 🙂 . I am so grateful to God for Everthing.

Grateful – Hezekiah Walker & LFC LYRICS:

I am grateful for the things that You have done
Yes I am grateful for the victories we’ve won
I could go on and on and on about Your works
Because I’m grateful, grateful so grateful just to praise you, Lord
    Flowing from my heart
Are the issues of my heart
    Is gratefulness
    (repeat)

    Grateful, grateful, grateful, grateful
    Grateful, grateful, grateful, grateful
    Grateful, grateful, grateful, gratefulness
    Is flowing from my heart

    Change pitch twice

    Flowing from my heart
Are the issues of my heart
    Is gratefulness

  47. Ever been down about yourself, low self esteem, just not liking yourself. Well God made us in HIS image. I believe society has every man and woman wanting to look this “perfect” image of the World…..When God already made us perfect in his image. God knew about every unibrow, every crooked tooth, every big nose, big toes, hands, every birth mark, crooked legs…yes God knew and you are PERFECTLY MADE in HIS IMAGE. GOD knew about us before we were even formed in our mother’s womb. Until we realize that we are not meant for this world and are meant for God’s Kingdom, that pimple face is perfectly made. This song is God Made Me by Mississippi Mass Choir.

    Through everyday trials of life
The enemy will have you question your very existence
So I call to tell you the believer that god
God made me He made me who I am
Come on and say it with me God made me
God made me He made me who I am (He made me)
Put a smile on your face, and lift your head and say
God made me (He made me) He made me who I am
You may be feeling down, but pick yourself up
God made me (and sing) made me who I am
So repeat these words after me and sing it
    I’m a conquer, I’m victorious, I won’t be stopped
Com on say it to yourself I won’t be stopped (say it) I’m a believer
    I’m an achiever, I won’t blocked, I won’t be blocked
Don’t let the devil steal your joy, and you know why?
god made me He made me who I am
God made me He made me who I am
    I’m a conquer, I’m victorious, I won’t be stopped
I won’t be stopped (there’s nothing that can stop me because)
I’m a believer, I’m an achiever (yes I’m an achiever)
I won’t blocked (there’s nothing that can stop my progress) I won’t be blocked
Come on Mississippi mass I don’t think they heard you
    I’m a conquer, I’m victorious, I won’t be stopped
(There’s nothing that can stop god’s plan) I won’t be stopped
(There’s nothing that can stop god’s purpose, so you gotta) I’m a believer
I believe in the reason, savior I’m an achiever
I can do all things through Christ (I won’t be blocked)
He strengthens me, come on, say it
Now if you believe it, stand up and lift your hands and say
My soul says yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah (come on and say it, lift your voice and say it)
My soul says yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah (sing it, come on open your mouth and declare yes to Your will, lord)
My soul says yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah (yes to your way, Lord, my soul says yeah, yes in tHe morning)
My soul says yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah (it’s yes at noontime, yes in tHe evening, yes late at night)
My soul says yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah (my soul says yes, does your soul say yes, yeah, yeah?)
God made me, god gave me, god raised me, god saved me (He save my soul)
God made me, god gave me, (He made me and He said that) god raised me, god saved me
(God made me) He gave me power
(God made me) He raised me up
God made me who I am
God made me who I am
So you ask yourself, does god really care for me
He does, so there’s no need to be ashamed of who you are
You can stand in confidence and declare to tHe world, god made me who I am!
Alleluia (god made me who I am)
God made me (come on and declare) god made me
    God made me
God made me (I see in your car) come on and say it
God made me (I see you in your house)
God made me (I see you on your job, say it)
God made me (God made me)
God made me (I think there’s another yes in your spirit, say)
Yeah yeah yeah yeah come on, lift your hands and say it, come on
    I’m a conquer, I’m victorious, I won’t be stopped
    I can’t be stop (I won’t be stopped)
    I won’t be stopped
    I’m a believer, I’m an achiever
    I won’t blocked I won’t be blocked
Come on everybody lift your hands and say (God made me who I am)
So when everyday trials come to tell you that
Stand and declare to yourself (God made me who I am)
That greater is He that is with him
Than He that is in the world
I’m a conqueror, I’m victorious, I’m a overcomer and God made me who I am (God made me who I am)

  48. Sometimes in life, people and situations truly shock you. You expect it from those that truly hate you. You expect betrayl from those that can’t stand your guts. But sometimes, it’s those that are most dearest to you. Can you believe this Deanna? You probably can given the circumstances of the donor. Well I am praying and pushing through this Deanna. I wish you were here with me. You know God still has a good group of people that are sorounding me and you neice and nephews with love. And I am so grateful. God took you away and in the midst of my grief and pain, more pain comes in the form of betrayl. But God continues to receive all the glory in all of this uncomfortableness. I am just having these silent cries and times to myself. And oh I am so uncomfortable. But I am somehow going to have to get comfortable being uncomfortable if that makes any sense to you. I know it doesn’t to me. But I will have to do a major adjustment with my feelings and focus on Jesus. If I have to leave and cry it out and come back, that’s what I have to do. Or even if I have to go outside and just breathe then I’ll have to do that. There is this song that I have been listening to lately and it’s called He Waited. It’s an old school song, but I tell you right now, I am waiting. I may not be like Job who was waiting for physical healing, but I am waiting on this spiritual healing, and as the song says though he slay me, yet will I trust him, I’m going to wait until change comes, If God brought me to it, He’s able to bring me through it, I’m going to wait until change comes! Oh Halleujah! How this songs resignates right now! I may not know when, I may not know how, but I know that’s God’s delay is not a deny! I’m waiting! I’m waiting on change to come! Amen.

In the bible there was a man that had been sick for 38 years
years. He waited down at Bethesda in hope that his body might
soon be healed. For legend said that the angel would come and
trouble the waters and that the first one to step in, that
immediately right then and there their healing will begin.
    But the bible said…

    (He waited)

    The man waited (He waited)

I tell ya church (He waited)

    He just waited (He waited)

    Those behind him (He waited)

Stepped in front of him (He waited)

Those on beside of him (He waited)

Moved all about Him (He waited)

He didn’t know when (He didn’t know when)

He didn’t know how (He didn’t know how)

But he knew God’s delay (He knew that God’s delay)

Was not a denial (Was not a denial)

And so he waited (He waited)

    He waited (He waited)

Church he just waited (He waited)

But who is he waiting on? (He waited on God)

    Lead Spoken Word:
You remember Job was sick for so very long, until the flesh
begin to pull away from Job’s bones. His wife approached him
one day with demons all in her eyes, she said “baby I know
you love the Lord, but why not curse God and die?”
    But the bible said…

    (He waited)

    Job waited (He waited)

Job said I’ve come too far (He waited)

To turn around right now (He waited)

I’ve got my hand (He waited)

On the gospel plow (He waited)

And I wouldn’t take nothing (He waited)

For my journey now (He waited)

He didn’t know when (He didn’t know when)

He didn’t know how (He didn’t know how)

But Job knew God’s delay (He knew that God’s delay)

Was not a denial (Was not a denial)

And so he waited (He waited)

    He waited (He waited)

    He waited (He waited)

    He just waited (he waited)

    Who was he waiting on?

    (He waited on God)

    Lead Spoken Word:
Isn’t it hard to believe that Job was sick that long, until the
very flesh begin to pull away from his bones. His wife came running
to him demons all in her eye, talkin’ ’bout “I know you love the
Lord but why not curse God and die”
    But Job said…

    (He waited)

Though He slay me (He waited)

Yet will I trust Him (He waited)

I’m gonna wait till my (He waited)

    Change come (He waited)

If God brought me to it (He waited)

He’s able to bring me through it (He waited)

I know He’ll do just what He said (He waited)

He didn’t know when (He didn’t know when)

He didn’t know how (He didn’t know how)

But He knew God’s delay (He knew that God’s delay)

    (Was not a denial)

He didn’t know when (He didn’t know when)

He didn’t know how (He didn’t know how)

But He knew God’s delay (He knew that God’s delay)

Was not a denial (Was not a denial)

And so he waited (He waited)

    He waited (He waited)

    He waited (He waited)

That’s what the bible said (He waited)

The bible said He waited (He waited)

(*the rest of this can be considered ad-lib)
    Let’s get personal, I’m waiting (I’m waiting)

    Church I’m waiting (I’m waiting)

Somebody want a new job (I’m waiting)

Somebody want a new anointing (I’m waiting)

    Yes I’m waiting (I’m waiting)

    Church I’m waiting (I’m waiting)

    ENDING:
I may not know when (I may not know when)

I may not know how (I may not know how)

But I know that God’s delay (I know that God’s delay)

Is not a denial (Is not a denial)

I may not know when (I may not know when)

behalf of Wings I say.. WAIT ON THE LORD!

Job said I’ve come too far (He waited)
To turn around right now (He waited)

Chills Chills! Chills! If you aint never been through nothing, you don’t know what I am talking about. This song truly blesses me and fills me up!

    1. Glory hallelujah!

I had chills earlier when we talked and I had tears when I spoke to someone else in reference to you and I felt God’s warm hands on me and He gave me hours of sweet rest. Thank you Lord.

  50. This is a repost from July 15th, 2022:
And EJ, I promise that I will always do my best by you and I will as long my blood still running warm through my veins. Just like I had a praying mother, so do you! Devil, EJ is mine! He don’t belong to you! We are God’s Children! We belong to our Savior and Father. JESUS CHRIST. King of Kings! LORD of LORDS! We Rebuke you in The mighty name of Jesus! YOU WONT HAVE MY FAMILY NOR ME!
This next song is Helen Baylors Testimony, I had a praying Grandmother
    Helen’s Testimony Lyrics
Hallelujah, hallelujah. You know, when I think about it, I started in the church, as a little girl, seven years old. Grandmother used to take me to church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I used to sing for the Lord and I used to sing in the adult choir. I loved the Lord with all my heart. By the time I was nine years old, I was gung-ho and my grandmother even said to me, she said, “You know, baby, God’s gonna use you one day.” And I didn’t know what she meant, but I knew I liked the sound of God using me. By the time I was eleven years old, my mother and father and my five brothers and little sister, we moved from Tulsa to California. My Dad’s job had transferred him out here. By the time I was twelve years old, I found myself in the nightclubs in Los Angeles. My Mom and Dad used to go to the clubs on the weekends. They didn’t know the Lord Jesus and Grandma wasn’t around anymore, so we just quit going to church. Was in the nightclubs at twelve years old and that was the worst place and the last place that I needed to be, [sings]
But I had a prayin’ grandmother! [speaks] By the time I was thirteen years old, I had recorded my first single and began to open up for people like Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, BB King, Bill Cosby, and I remember opening up for him one time and things began to happen. Hallelujah. Things began to happen all around me. The Devil had a trap, see? He was gonna set me up because, see, I liked — I liked the money. I was making a lot of money and I liked the
glamor and I liked the applause, because that said, “I love you.” [sings] We all want to be loved! Hallelujah! [speaks]
I didn’t know that Jesus loved me. I didn’t know it then. When I was sixteen years old, I had a baby out of wedlock and, by the time I was seventeen years old, I left home and joined the cast of “Hair” and I began to travel all across the country. I was making more money than my Mom and Dad put together. By then, things were looking pretty good. Then I was introduced to marijuana. Devil had a trap set. Next thing I know, it was pills. Pills to get up in the morning and pills to go to bed at night. Then, it was the alcohol. Then I became very promiscuous and ran around with a lot of
people I had no business being with and, one day, I was introduced to cocaine and I know all drugs are a spirit, but
this cocaine became my best friend and I began to hang out with the Devil and I did everything that I was big and bad enough to do. And I’m not glorifying him, I’m just letting him know that [sings] I don’t belong to you! Hallelujah! I’ve been set free! Hallelujah! Glory to God! [speaks] I went on for about twelve years of my life and I traveled with people and I worked with Chaka Khan and Rufus and I worked with Captain and Tenille and all the people in the studios and I was good at my job and I was quick and I could demand double, triple scale and I went to work and I was high every day. [sings] The Devil was tryin’ to kill me, but I had a prayin’ grandmother, never turned her back on me! Hallelujah! [speaks] One time, when I was in Houston, Texas, I met a man there and I was getting ready to go on the road with Chaka Khan and there was a group going on the road with us, Heatwave, and they had a man working with them and he was doing their lights and I didn’t know this, but I met him on the road and he was a nice guy
You never would know it to look at him, but he was also, not only was their light director, but he was a cocaine dealer. Devil knows how to really do it. So, we began to be friends and we began to date and, you know, I began to get all the cocaine I wanted for free. How many of you know it wasn’t for free? But we came home, me and this young man, and we began to live together and he was still selling drugs and I began to make drops for him. I was dropping off cocaine and making a lot of foolish turns in my life and my life began to do this spiral, downward spiral. I was going to Hell. Then, I began to watch Christian television. I began to watch Dr. Frederick K.C. Price. No matter what time it was
Saturday night, whether it was 3:30, 4:30 in the morning, somehow, our eyes popped open at 8:30. [sings] Evidence!
[chuckles] And I have to be honest with you. I used to sit there with my pre-rolled joints from the night before and I used to fire up a joint and watch Dr. Price. And I used to, kind of, you know, Dr. Price, you know, you know how I am. I used to make fun of Dr. Price. I’d say, “Just look at him, talking about ‘Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God’!” But faith came. Hallelujah! Glory! Praise to God tonight! Hallelujah! [sings] He’s worthy! Yes, He is! [speaks] You see, for two years, I watched Christian television. I was in and out and I bought a Bible and
I would throw away all of the paraphernalia to smoke crack with and to smoke freebase and we used to make it and make our own. I threw it all in the trash and I’d go get it again and we’d get high. One night, as I was getting loaded I began to pass out. Then, my head hit the wall. Pow! Then, I began to slide down the wall and, as I began to come to, all of my bodily fluids were doing their own thing and I was dying [sings] but I had a prayin’ grandmother and I knew enough to call on the name of Jesus! [speaks] Wasn’t a couple of days later that I was watching Christian television and Grandma tells me she was layin’ on her face during this time and she had been fasting for two weeks of just calling on the name of Jesus. [sings] “Save my granddaughter! Save my granddaughter, Jesus!” [speaks] I watched Christian TV and it was as if God Himself said, “That’s enough!” and He rebuked the Devil long enough for me to make an intelligent decision and I said, [sings] “Jesus, if You take me back…I wanna come home, if You take me back…” [speaks] I said “Jesus, I know You’re real. If You’ll just take all this away from me, take all the drugs, take them away, I’m tired.” And I want you to know that, instantly, I was set free. Instantly, I was delivered! Hallelujah! Glory, hallelujah! This was on a Friday night and I want you to know that, notonly did He save me, He saved that drug dealer and he’s my husband tonight, James Baylor. [sings] Hallelujah! Faith comes by hearing, yes it does! Glory! [speaks] And I don’t know about you, but I feel like lifting up the name of Jesus!
