So much to thank God for.

Hope you all had a chance to click on the YouTube link and listen to Thank you by Walter Hawkins & Donnie McClurklin. It will bless your soul. Talk about a way to start your morning with a praise in our hearts and on our lips.

This morning I would like us all to take time to jot down things we are thankful for and place them in our “jar of thankfulness.” If you are not familiar with what I am referring to let me fill you in:

New Year jar of blessing directions:
- Start the year with an empty jar.
- Every few days or each week add a note about something good, something fun you did, or something that made someone laugh or smile.
- Then on New Year's Eve empty the jar and read about the amazing year you had.

Jar of Thankfulness:
- Write down what you are thankful on strips of paper and collect in an empty jar.
- When you are feeling down, alone, overwhelmed, or defeated take a peak inside of your jar to remind yourself of everything you have to be thankful for.
Do this as often as you have to, to remember just how blessed you are. There is nothing too big or too small to be thankful for. If you do not have a jar then feel free to store in the notes section of your phone, a journal, vision board, chalkboard, or whatever you have access to that you can retrieve easily.

I invite each of you to share this concept with friends and family so we can encourage others to have a heart of gratitude and thanksgiving.

On this wonderful Wednesday morning what are you thankful for? Add a few things in the comments section. Feel free to share a testimony or a word of praise with others. Let’s be intentional to give God the praise this morning. Amen somebody.

  1. Never heard of this. I love this idea. It helps remind you why you are still in the race.

    1. Amen and amen. Try it. I bet that would be something you all could read together over a cup of hot chocolate while sitting in your matching pajamas for New Years Eve.
